What is the difference between a stretched canvas and a framed poster?
A stretched canvas is printed on 380 gsm artist-grade canvas and hand-stretched over a 1.5-inch Canadian wood frame with a gallery wrap, so the image continues around the edges and it hangs with no frame around it. Sizes run from 9 x 12 to 48 x 96 inches, and larger sizes include a rear brace bar.
A poster is printed on paper and comes rolled, or mounted in a black or white frame, in 12 x 16, 16 x 20, 20 x 28 or 24 x 36 inches. Choose canvas for a gallery look and depth; choose a framed poster for a crisp, flat print with a visible border.
How good does my photo need to be?
Better than you think for a large canvas, and usually fine for a small one. A photo straight off a recent phone is generally good for the common sizes; heavily cropped, screenshotted or social-media-compressed images start to show at larger sizes.
Upload it and we will look at it. If it is going to print soft at the size you picked, we tell you before we print it, and either suggest a smaller size or ask for the original file.
What is the resin finish?
An optional add-on for canvas: an epoxy coating over the print that gives a high-gloss, glass-like surface and makes colours look richer and deeper. It is available clear, or with glitter through it.
It is chosen as an add-on alongside your canvas order. If you prefer the standard semi-gloss canvas finish, simply leave it off.
How long does a canvas take?
Canvas and posters usually take a few days to produce: the print cures, then the canvas is stretched over its frame and checked. It then ships by tracked courier, and you receive the tracking number by email.
If you are ordering for a date, such as a wedding or an office opening, say so when you order or in your quote request and we will confirm whether it is achievable. Faster options are sometimes available for a fee.

A stretched canvas arrives ready to hang with the image wrapped around the edges, which suits photos and artwork you want to feel like a gallery piece. A framed poster, in a black or white frame, gives a crisp flat print with a visible border and suits graphic designs, typography and prints with a lot of fine detail. Both are made to order from the file you upload.
